Summer is full upon us (as long as you live in Southern California 😆 ), and there are dozens of both organized and casual beach volleyball games to be seen throughout the day on San Diego beaches.
A game typically looks like this. Guys in old-fashioned boardshorts and a few girls in bikinis hitting the ball around. (We’re not sure why that fellow has angel wings tattooed on his back; profound philosophical statement, or too much tequila one weekend during Spring Break?)
But if you are lucky (like we are 😎 ), you happen upon much more interesting games of volleyball!
Alice in Wonderland levitates as she hits the ball.
The 1970s-Shorts team seems to be doing pretty well.
We can’t tell what the theme is of the team spiking the ball…but it’s certainly unique.
We can best show the fun with a slide show. Enjoy!!
Why be average when you can be different, right?
Getting to the Bottom of Things.
When you watch enough games, you realize that some perspectives are more interesting than others.
It is okay to enjoy your own perspective of the game.
I know I do. 😎
Two Sides to Every Story.
There are many ways to enjoy beach volleyball besides playing the game. Some folk have fun just being an observer and cheering for their favorite team.
You can check the weather on your phone if you like (72 and sunny) while cheering for your team.
Cheering for your favorite team may not be as tiring as actually playing, but it is still important to drink plenty of fluids.
